About Us
Why Connections for Life was created
Connections for Life was set up to fill a real gap in local support for people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s — and just as importantly, for their carers.
After diagnosis, support can feel very medical, but what’s often missing is somewhere safe and welcoming to simply be — to talk, laugh, feel understood, and still feel part of a community.
We wanted to create sessions that feel relaxed and normal, not clinical. A place where people can enjoy connection, purpose, dignity, and quality time together, while carers feel supported rather than forgotten.
This group has been shaped by listening to families in the local community, about what they actually want, not what professionals assume they need.
